Today, Akademiska Hus inaugurates its latest addition of coworking environments – A Working Lab Green Innovation Park. The premises are centrally located on campus in Ultuna and contain a mix of offices, flex and fixed spaces as well as lounges and rooms for external meetings, workshops and events. The investment in coworking provides an opportunity for those working in the green industries to rent space in the short or long term and take part in a knowledge-intensive campus area characterized by education, research and innovation.
"A Working Lab Green Innovation Park provides the conditions for academia and business to converge in the middle of campus and contribute to the further development of the vibrant knowledge cluster that exists in Ultuna. We see a great demand for this type of premises, both from those already active in the field but also from those who want to come here to get close to the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences and the breadth of companies and industry organizations that exist here. says Marie Löwling, property area manager at Akademiska Hus.
Around 40 members already in place
At present, there are about 40 members from 17 companies on site in A Working Lab Green Innovation Park. The mix of activities and cutting-edge expertise means that the premises serve as an important bridge between research and business, where opportunities for collaboration, growth and development can arise.
"The creative spaces provide a perfect balance between networking and focus work, and everything works smoothly – from the internet and coffee to meeting rooms. Going forward, I hope for more early companies with exciting green innovations that can become an active part of the network," says Björn Lindh, serial entrepreneur and investor in companies such as NitroCapt, Agteria Biotech, NextFuel and Airis Garden.
About A Working Lab – a national concept
A Working Lab is Akademiska Hus' national concept for coworking and flexible meeting places. This service offering creates the conditions for new ways of researching, working and studying in the real estate company's premises close to campus. In the autumn of 2019, A Working Lab opened at Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg, followed by A Working Lab Universum in Umeå and A Working Lab Innomedicum on Campus Solna. Since 2022, A Working Lab has taken over the operation of the coworking environment THINGS at KTH Campus in Stockholm.
A membership gives access to all A Working Labs across the country. Together, the different environments form a national network that opens up and connects Sweden's campuses, where everything from expertise and experience to booking systems and development costs are shared. As a member, you can, for example, easily work at A Working Lab in Stockholm for a day, even if you normally have your workplace in Gothenburg.
