Building Guide
Solar cells:
There are solar cells installed on the roof.
Error report:
Is there something wrong with your house? Report a problem on our website. Please include your room number when reporting a problem. The room number is listed on the doorpost.
In case of emergency problems outside of regular working hours (Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m.), you can call the emergency number 070-510 10 02.
Locking:
The building is equipped with a time-controlled central locking system. Outside of regular working hours, a pass card with a code is required for access.
When exiting through locked doors, press the button with the key symbol located next to the door. Also make sure the door locks.
There are separate containers for waste sorting in the building's garbage room/environment room. Akademiska Hus is responsible for emptying the garbage room. The tenant is responsible for removing bulky waste, pallets and larger packaging.
The following sorting:
- Paper
- Corrugated cardboard/Cardboard
- Colored and uncolored glass
- Metal
- Plastic packaging, LDPE
- Food waste
-Mixed waste
Recycled paper is sorted, handled and paid for directly by each tenant within the tenant's premises.
Other waste
Waste such as chemical and biological waste is sorted, handled and paid for directly by each tenant within the premises.
Generally
All fluorescent fixtures in the building are equipped with high-frequency devices and harmonic filters. LED lighting has been installed in public areas. A gradual replacement to LED lighting throughout the building has begun. Outdoor lighting is switched on when it is dark outside and switched off when it is light outside.
Entrance hall
Lighting turns on when it is dark outside and turns off when it is light outside.
Corridors and stairwells
The lighting is switched on in the morning and switched off in the evening automatically. At other times, the lighting can be switched on and off manually via push buttons on the walls. If the lighting is not switched off manually, it will be switched off automatically later.
Escape staircase
The lighting is turned on and off via push buttons. If the lighting is not turned off manually, it will turn off automatically.
Emergency lighting
In corridors and stairwells, there are luminaires and directional signs that are always lit, even during power outages.
Toilets and cleaning
The lighting turns on and off automatically when someone enters the room.
Force
All outlets in the equipment room/lab are powered via a separate transformer for lab power. These outlets are also protected with ground fault circuit interrupters.
Fire
Fire protection work is carried out on an ongoing basis. Generally, the landlord is responsible for fire protection outside the premises and the tenant for fire protection inside the premises. This is regulated in the lease agreement.
It is important not to store, place or leave anything in the stairwell or in public areas that could pose a fire risk, make it difficult to access and clean, or be disruptive to the well-being of the occupants.
Fire evacuation alarm
Evacuation takes place via the respective stairwell. Each tenant is responsible for ensuring that there is an updated evacuation plan.
The building is equipped with an evacuation alarm in the event of a fire. In the event of smoke, smoke detectors trigger an evacuation alarm throughout the building and a signal to evacuate is given via a doorbell. If a fire is detected, call 112, as the evacuation alarm is not directly forwarded to the Rescue Services. Try to limit the fire source by closing windows and doors.
You can manually trigger the alarm yourself using push buttons in escape routes.
More information
Detailed information about the building regarding fire cells, evacuation/assembly points, security alarms RWC, ventilation & gas alarms is formulated and described in the rental agreement. Contact your contact person at Akademiska Hus or customer service if you have any questions.
Personal and elevator alarms
It is possible to send an emergency signal from elevators. When the push button is held down for more than 15 seconds, a signal sounds outside the door and an alarm is sent to Akademiska Hus. After regular working hours, the alarm is sent to on-call staff or security guards.
Alarms from elevators are reset by operating personnel.
HEAT
The house has a so-called water-borne heating system for radiators on the exterior walls. If it is cold in the room, check that the valve next to or under the radiator is open before reporting a fault.
Cold
Some rooms with high heat loads are cooled with chilled beams placed in the ceiling. The temperature is controlled via room sensors.
Openable windows should only be opened in exceptional cases; we recommend that they be closed so that ventilation and heating/cooling can function as intended.
Car parking
Parking spaces intended for vehicles with a handicap permit can be found close to the main entrance. Please see Campus map .
Entrances and lifts
The entrances are accessible and all floors can be reached via lift.
RWC
Toilets adapted for the disabled are available on each floor. At the RWC there are security alarms with red push buttons labeled "emergency signal". Alarms are reset inside each room by pressing the reset button.
Generally
The ventilation in the building is in operation around the clock. In Lab rooms, ventilation is continuous and forced when fume hoods are used.
In building C, ventilation closes at night and on weekends.
Do not open windows after 4 p.m. or during weekends as this triggers an alarm.
Lab ventilation
The ventilation in the hoods is regulated so that the air speed is constant in the hood opening. An audible and light alarm is given from the display panel, on the respective hood, if the air speed in the door opening is exceeded or undershot. Reduce hatch opening when low speed alarm is indicated. If the alarm has not been reset after 35-45 seconds, the power to the outlet at the hood is cut.
ATTENTION! Remember to close the hood after use so that energy consumption can be kept down and a good function of the system can be maintained.
Generally
When LPG and hydrogen are used in laboratories, valves are opened via key switches in each lab.
Opened gas valves are indicated by a yellow indicator light on the key switch.
Keys
Keys for key switches can be obtained from the respective person in charge of the department's subject area. Key only fits de lab. which the subject area disposes of.
Power failure
In the event of a power failure, gas valves are closed to avoid gas emissions when the power returns. Key switches must therefore be reactivated after a power cut.
Fault in gas installation
To avoid gas spreading in the premises in the event of a leak, a safety system is located in the gas storage. This closes a valve on the main when an abnormally high flow is indicated. After the safety system is reset, in the Chemical Warehouse, key switches must be reactivated for the gas to become available.
In the event of a fault with the gas plant, this is reported to the Chemical Storage.
